The Tuscan regional elections took place on 20 and 21 September 2020 during the pandemic due to the rapid spread of Covid-19. The political impact of the regional election is increased by the critical situation that Italy is experiencing. The electoral performances of single parties and coalitions highlight a change in the equilibrium of the regional political system. In Tuscany the center-left coalition wins, but, with weaker ideological linkages, the red political-electoral hegemony no longer exists.
