Comunità e Coesione Sociale: un indice di misura per gli assetti interattivi del territorio di una città universitaria: il caso di Borgo Portello

The scientific literature suggests that the studentification in which neighborhoods are largely inhabited by college students can have impacts on community social cohesion. This work aims to propose an evaluation tool to assess the Community Cohesion taking into account the discursive processes through which human interactions occur in a territory. This tool has been designed by the UnicityLab of the University of Padua in respect of Dialogical Science’s theoretical framework. The cohesion measurement index evaluation examines how much interactions within a community converge towards social cohesion or social fragmentation. We reported the results collected by the application of the evaluation tool in an exploratory research at the Portello neighborhood of Padua.
