Esperienze di collaborazione tra Università e imprese a supporto dell’economia circolare nel territorio padovano.

Abstract

The transition to a circular economy is the solution to cope with the increased demand for raw materials and solve the problems associated with the production of waste. However, the application of the model requires companies to make significant investments but also new skills. An exploratory research conducted in 2021 by the SAM.lab research group within the Unicity project verified whether and how Padua University is recognized by companies as a privileged partner in circular economy projects. The survey reached some organizations in Padua province which are active in environmental sustainability and investigated the role of Padua University in promoting eco-innovation. The results highlight how the synergy between universities and the local area is key objective for businesses competitiveness, however rarely achieved. From the research conclusions, further development perspectives increase strategic collaboration between University and city in the field of environmental sustainability and circular economy.
