Presenze/Compresenze. Storie di case, persone e luoghi per scenari al rione Palestro di Padova

This research, in which the first results of a data collection began in 2021 and that will run through 2023 are presented, the point of observation is the relationship between residents and university students in a specific area of the city of Padua, the Palestro ward. Through a qualitative methodology based on interviews, public meetings and opportunities for participatory observation, the present goal is to collect data about some peculiarities we think this relationship has in this place compared to others in the city, where the concept of “Padua University City” is a really hot topic and identifies two different and sometimes opposite demands of the city. The research supports the thesis that, by disentangling Padua into its different neighborhoods and wards, the critical city/university node tends here and there to take on different nuances, while other issues appear on the scene.
